The best times of the year to renovate your home
When you come up with the idea of renovating your home, it doesn’t mean that the timing is right to do so. But how do you know if this is the case? Again, we are here to advise you.
January to March period
Even if working out in the middle of winter seems counter-intuitive, this period is the optimal time if you want to expand your home. Indeed, when the ground is icy, it is the ideal time to dig the foundations and make the concrete.
April to June period
This is the busiest time for entrepreneurs, therefore it is also the most expensive. This is the time to do outdoor work which you are able to do by yourself, such as landscaping, remaking or repainting your patio.
July to September period
This hot summer period is ideal for remaking the interior of your home. As you can read in the article “Renovate, Sell, Enjoy!”, rooms that will give a bigger return on investment are the kitchen and the bathroom, but it doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t take care of your other rooms. In addition, if you go on vacation for a week, or more, you may have the work done during your absence and thus avoid the inconvenience of living in a house under renovation.
October to December period
Winter is coming, contractors are less busy, so the costs of renovations and materials can be reduced compared to the rest of the year. On the other hand, delivery of the materials may be slower, thus slow down the renovation process.
